I watched the 99 or 2000 ARRC and remember 1:39.2 in qualifing...

I think that was 2001 or 2002 that Chet ran a 1:39 in the BMW.

Me thinks.....Well, yes I remember correctly... The old ARRC online used to have the results, both qualify and race .... Must have been in 99.....One of the speedsource cars.... low 39s..... Was my first time visiting the track... RX-7s did the deed.... Wish I could find the old site. My point being that the Rx7 has ran comparable times 9-10 years ago.....not race times in the 39s but have qualified on A compound hoosiers back in the day...... 95 percent sure.

You could be right. Around 1999 was a benchmark for Speedsource. They were dominant about that time. I have results somewhere. I'll see if I can find them.
