    Huffmaster was running on A compounds? I get how a relatively light ITA CRX could do that but surprised with a heavier car begin able to last a race using them.

    Yep,
    "A" compounds they were......

    I'm sure it takes a really smooth driver, and a well tuned suspension,with great shocks to not over-use the tires with un-needed motion or slippage..... Not sure how its gonna work on an archaic setup like an early Z... But if my R6s are going off before 20 laps, I'm sure it'll be a challenge to get 10 laps on even softer tires.....

    My source is saying it can be done, and has used em for couple years now....I just hadn't noticed....

    That is a fast time no doubt. But I am like you guys, wish I had not heard of the A6 thing........not good at all!

    Guess it will be like F1 now. A's to qualify on and R's to race on(unless you can make the A's last ).

    The A6 is good for 1 session and they are very temperature dependent. Purple Crack is the best term for them.

    ^ For sure conditions were ideal for them at RA this past weekend. Beautiful weekend.

    A6's should last on IT cars without an issue. I run them on my T3 car(much heavier (2970lbs)with less suspension mods(we are only allowed shocks). I even get multiple sessions(ususally 3 race/qualifying before I notice a drop in grip) out of them. Usually the A's will cycle out before they wear out.

    I bet i would burn up A6s on the rears in several laps......wow....more IT escalation! All part of the game.

    Holy crap a 38 in the race is fast. Shows it can be done though I guess....

    David, sorry to hear about your issue. One day, the ARRC Gods will smile on your Dino-ITS car I think....still time.

    Steve, A6's are not that much softer than R's. Almost every T1-3 races on A's at the nationals not just the runoffs. 3700lb Vipers, 3550 lb Corvettes run them in the longer races at nationals without a problem. I have seen up to 230 miles on A6's with good tire management. Something as light as a 240z on 225/45/15's will last a good long time.

    WIll A6s also make an RX7 faster then the ITR cars on the back straight?

    I thought the same thing and then watched Huffmaster drive during the Pro-IT. The tires may have given a second or 2 but he can drive. And the Speedsource cars used to turn 1:41's before Road Atlanta was re-vamped. And before open ECU's. So, 1-2 seconds for ECU's, 1-2 seconds for tires and you're pushing low 1:39's. And if you can really drive, if you get the run out of 7, you'll look like you're really pulling down the backstraight. Look at the video on goracingtv and you can see how he found the shortest way around the track too. I was really surprised by 1:37's but I was really surprised by 1:40's in a 240z too. When I was running 10 years ago, 1:42 was a first place time in ITS. Shows what a difference 10 years can make.

    I watched the 99 or 2000 ARRC and remember 1:39.2 in qualifing.....shocked me then, will be my goal this upcoming year..... Wheels, tires, personal conditioning,and yes ,snug lug nuts....... Walked up to Huffmaster after the Pro-it while tech was handing out weight slips.....My bottom line was 237....Robbies 147.....it all adds up...... a well run team .

    Steve E., I don't think we're implying excessive power, just too damn fast for what we're used to ...this year.... Lot has changed in the ECU powered cars, what kinda increases have been acheived in the wobbling rotor? my guess, just an increased average torque value......

    The RX8 seemed to really come alive in the Saturday sprint race.....Steve, Hope you guys can get that sexy car up to speed with the weight corrections...... looks great.

    I tore that car down in impound and know it well. It is legal. If you have something to say grow a set.

    Welp, I don't know anything about the car nor anything to say really, so I will take your word for it.

    It is just extraordinary to have a car which has been popular in ITS for many years and is supposed to make in the 180-ish HP range and 130-ish pound feel of TQ range to out run the ITR cars like that. Those cars left me, Spillman, and the others for dead on the back straight.

    Now, I am not (really) complaining about the lap time. (Other then it is pretty much impossible in an ITS Intregra.) I watched the Pro-IT race from the T5 hill and was around him for the sprint sessions. His driving was a thing of beauty.

    I was in P5 OA on lap 1 of the sprint race and the ITR cars were not that far behind when they hit the back straight. Extraordinary I still say.
