By my interpretation of "free" electrical, I can remove all factory wiring and create custom harness(es).
Rules nerds agree?
PS For STL

9.1.4.L, Electrical SystemDamn, sure seems that way. That's one big honkin' hole to drive a truck through, though...I personally don't see any reason to restrict it, but I'm sure some competitor will eventually do something to make the CRB restrict it... - GA
The electrical system is free provided that:
1. The battery [details on allowed battery]
2. If located in the cockpit, the battery must be placed [details on battery location]
3. Standard headlights, headlight operating ancillaries, and parking
light assemblies [details on lighting]
4. Fog/driving lights, parking lights and associated attaching hardware
may be removed [details on these lights]
5. Each car must be fitted with at least one effective windshield wiper
assembly [wiper details]
6. Each car must have an effective defogging/demisting system [defogging blah blah]
I agree Greg. I started thinking about weight loss which got me thinking about losing some wires. I realized that I had not seen any allowance to remove wiring and figured I was hosed. Upon rereading I realized I had missed the tree I was looking for because you are allowed the whole forest.
weight loss ... that's funny
I guess if you're running an STL car in STU ???
I'm still trying to figure out how to mount 160# of ballast
