Bring it dude, we can use the numbers! And let us know what you need to be competitive...you have a lot of engine options to choose from.
Build blog!
That thing needs an LS7. I might even know where to get one.

Since I am still in recovery mode from the Great Bastrop County Labor Day Conflagration of 2011 The competitive part may be an ongoing project. The first step is to get the safety things done and the oil pan replaced to get it on track. Then the suspension upgrades. No need to make power it you cannot get it to the track. Then engine/drivetrain.
I hope to have it all done by 2013 when the Run Offs come to Circus (damn it I mean Circuit) of the Americas. Not sure which is the most wishful thinking, the having it done part or the COTA part.
The cage builder said he can have it back to me in time to have it on the track for the TWS Super Tour. Hope to see some of you there.
I need someting to replace this
Since this
caused the insurance company to total it is seems like a good choice.

The fire was labor day weekend. 34000 acres and almost 2000 homes destroyed. Took ten days to get it controlled.
The Toyota in front had just been picked up from the body shop being repaired after the MSRH crash with Cooper. The engine hoist had the engine and trans hanging ready to go back in. The Miata was going to be built for my son's race car. The BMW was my daily driver. There is another Supra on the jack stands just out of frame that just needed the brakes bled and a safety inspection to go back on the road.
I have carried 20000+ pounds of burned and twisted metal to the scrap yard so far.
Scorched Earth is the leading contender for the new name for the race team.

To make it a bit more clear, Jerry lives near Austin, TX where there were a ton of wildfires (and arson-started fires  ) this summer. Thousands of people lost everything. Jerry was one of those unfortunate guys that lost pretty much everything but the clothes on his back.
geesh... wow. Sorry for the loss Jerry.

I'm alway sad when I see burned out cars after wildfires. There was one a couple years ago where they were showing a burned out Porsche 356 (steal body too not a replica). I kinda wish there was a protective blanket you could put over a car to keep it from burning, usually there's not enough time to deploy anything though, like when the winds are really blowing. A fire moving at 40-50 mph is nothing to take lightly. So, glad you're alright (started to say OK, but I fear that's an insult to a Texan ) and building a new car! GLWTB.

It went to Gilfus Racing Enterprises this morning. Ed said he should be able to have it done in time for me to do the TWS Super Tour event.
Now bear in mind guys it will be pretty much an IT car with STO on the side for that one. I'll try to stay out of everyone's way.

One other thing, and I cannot emphasize this one enough, IF YOU HAVE NOT REVIEWED YOUR INSURANCE COVERAGES IN A FEW YEARS DO IT NOW!

That's a great point! Having had to deal with homeowners, car and specialty (race car) insurance all in the last months I learned a LOT. Mostly the hard way. I few points:
If you don't have comprehensive on your street car and something happens to it at your house (fire, tree crushes it, etc), you're SOL. From both the car insurance side as well as the homeownersside. Same thing with boats, ATV's, etc. They need to be listed on your homeowners to be covered.
Specialty insurance for race cars (transportation and storage): I almost didn't get covered on my race car after a branch smashed it because it wasn't at the location (shop) that I had listed on the policy. $5K worth of damage.
Things you don't think about until it's too late.......

Quick update, Ed got snowed under with getting Miatas ready for supertours, majors, and a big NASA event so the Camaro got pushed back. Unless there was major carnage at TMS this weekend it should be on the lift now.

The doors are a little more wobbly than I like. Once the nascar bars are done I may have to look at some bracing.
First Eagles Canyon probably not, Labor Day maybe, Fall eagles canyon and Snow bird should be no problem.

Yeah, that was about a year out on my car! then again, I'd built the car while I was on desk duty with a back injury and it was after the drive'r school before I had the interior painted. then it was another year before the next school... I took my time.
