Congratulations to Jeff Young on his first SARRC Championship. Many years of development on both the car and the driver, very much deserved. Also congratulations to Russell Boatwright for his first SARRC win. Picked the perfect race to peak!!

Thanks Steve. I really appreciate it. When it comes from a friend with the driving and car prep skills you have, it means something.
Russ is kicking butt! He's clean and fast -- and 22! If he gets out more next year he is a huge threat to take the 2012 Championship. Love racing with him.
In fact, I want to take a minute and pitch "our" class. ITS in the SEDiv is just a GREAT bunch of guys. Kent Thompson and I drove door to door for 2nd that whole race and never had any worries about contact. Steve Parrish came down just to spectate while fixing the Z, and Ron Munnerlyn was kicking butt in a seriously underpowered Miata.
If Munn gets some hp in that car, and Mark Gray gets his BMW together, Steve P. his Z repaired, you your uber RX7 finished, and Ron Earp his Mustang together (and we may have another dark horse in former CentDiv star Jeff Giordano in a 2nd Mustang), that plus me and Russ and Chuck Hines and Charles Perry and Brian Mangan and all of the other ITS regulars back out and we will have a hell of a battle next year.
Good hard nosed, fast clean racing from this bunch, and then lots of beers and good times in the paddock afterwards. I love it. Beats the hell out of golf.
Dr. Earp should have some vid up by the time I land in China....you can watch Russ drive away from me and Kent (and my incredibly hamfisted start) live, in person with V8 soundtrack.....

Well done Jeff, congratulations for a well deserved win!
I just got back from towing the rig back to Raleigh and am a bit too tired to upload video tonight. But I should have it up tomorrow.
In the meantime, here is a picture of the newly minted ITS SARRC Champion!

Job well done Jeff! Congrats!
Sorry about the delay but these HD files are a pain in the butt to work with. I have it up on Youtube though so give it a watch. The HD camera stopped for some reason about a third of the way through the race:
