LOL. Seriously, probably the smartest move I have seen on the internetz in years. You lived to play another lap, knew you were faster than P2, got the pass made within the second lap...it was perfect.

Absolutely the right move to make. Even if you gave up a half-dozen spots in class, you still accomplished a major goal - to be able to drive the car back on the trailer. Better to live to fight another day or lap.

Too many (particularly in my own class) still drive as if their lives depended upon it, and as if F1/NASCAR/Chumpcar scouts were crowding the stands looking for The Next Greatest Thing. They aren't, we're racing for $3 trophies, and too many forget that.
