I'm wanting a cordless impact wrench for Christmas.
But, I plan on carrying a small compressor around for air anyway.
Is the cordless impact a waste of money or worth it?????
Any suggestions for the best value?
Thanks,
Todd

The PEP Boys Goodyear impact!! Cheap and keeps on going!! Charge lasts all weekend and it will break almost any lug nut.

Todd...Home Depot has a good selection. Obviously, like anything else you get what you pay for. I purchased a set of metric and sae sockets, as well as the Dewalt which seemed fairly heavy duty to me.

I got a used Matco one. Thing is incredibly powerfull but being old and used the batteries don't last that long. I don't know how I lived for so long with out one. That and gear wrenches. Just the fact that you can bring an impact wrench to tear stuff apart in the junkyard saves you enough time to pay for itself.

Very useful tool when you are in the paddock and trying to figure out what mother nature is going to do? Wets or drys?
I purchased the goodyear unit Jeff mentioned after readying various opinions on line. I was skeptical, but figured at that price it was almost a disposable item. Two years later it is still performing like new and the charge lasts all weekend.

I received a Snap On 18v impact wrench as a gift and use it all the time!! it makes short work of quite a few jobs.. surprising how quick it breaks crank bolts free!!
Absolute must have tool.
Nothing less than 18v though.
I have two Milwaukees--one for home; one for the track.
Batteries are consumables...keep that in mind.
I bought the Goodyear earlier this year and have been very disappointed with it. Don't know if they changed it but it will barely remove lugs torqued to 80. I had high hopes, but not pleased. YMMV.
If it's a gift, I"d get a "real" one. I've used a Milwaukee and it's good.

I have to go with Jeff, Jim , and Derek. I bought the Goodyear one at Pep Boys and have not bee dissapointed. One of the best tool investments I ever made.

Got one of these a couple of seasons back. 300 lb*ft will break the lug nuts off my F350, no sweat.
Excatly like the one Longacre sells, without the Longacre stickers, for less than half the price.

I have a Goodyear and have loved it....But
last week the charger stopped working.
Don't know what I'll do next.
I have gone to the Pep Boys web site with no luck. Does anybody have a part number?

Wonder if the Goodyear is no more. Their weekly circular shows a Greatneck 24 v for $79.98. (#80148)
