    Default barber....

    Naw....
I want to get down there, but the stars just aren't allowing for it...Mackaman and I are swapping out some fuel lines/pickups and stuff....I finished off a cam lobe at Road Atlanta last month...been losing power since I bought this car...couldn't figure it out..... # 4 exhaust lobe finally became "round" enough for me to notice!!!!.... slivers of metal went some where.....So....Swapping in my "new" engine this week, 3 years old, but only has 2 weekends on it. Should be fun... I plan on doing Goeblins Go, and the SIC.

Its hard to say whats in a Z after a few years racing......Measure em, let me know @ 828-289-0098. KONI D/A's won't fit small tubes...

These struts are 2.015" OD and Carreras and Bilsteins drop right in them.

    Many thanks fellows.

If someone comes up with a passenger side setup please let Jeff know. I've got to travel and will be MIA most of tomorrow and Tuesday. I can arrange to get a shipping label sent to you I think so that it can arrive on Wednesday. Got to sign off now for a early AM flight....

I just went and checked and I do have a passenger side spare strut, complete with hub and backing plate. The insert is still in this one. So if none of the others pan out, let me know and I will send it on.

edit, it is an early tube so it will be the smaller diameter

I will call you in the am and ship as well. I have cheap shipping at the office.

Here are a couple of pictures. I tried to remove the backing plate but I am too tired to fight with the phillips screws. We can settle up at Barber, just make sure Ron makes it!

    You da man!

I'll mail you a check immediately -- no need to wait until Barber.

I'll bring the backing plate back to you at Barber. Ron has some special ones to hold his brake ducts.

    Really, really appreciate it.

I guess I'm a bit late to this thread...

My sure fire shock removal technique for Datsun struts:

    1. Drill a 3/8" hole in the bottom of the strut tube.
    2. Chuck up a 5/16" pin punch in your air hammer.
    3. Insert in hole.
    4. Fire away (after remembering to remove the gland nut at the top).

I'm undefeated after changing out at least 40 Datsun struts.

I have strut shortening instructions in the Bench Racing section of my web site if anyone needs them. And the Koni 8610s and 8611s will fit inside 240Z struts.
