* Here are some pictures of the work at LRP. Does it look like they added some camber to the left hander??

There was always quite a bit of camber at the entrance of the lefthander near the flag station but it almost looks like it does not flatten out as quickly as you approach the exit. Hard to be sure from the photo though.

double wow. I'll be there on the 11th, hope it's done
I can't even imagine the stress they're under now before the big weekend.
Any new updates on how things are moving along?

Things are moving well. They have already re-done some parts that were 'finished'. They have a big-buck analysis company there taking core samples and giving the go or no-go. They worked with the guy who formulates the surfaces for NASCAR tracks to come up with a custom mix. Pretty cool actually.
5 days of cure time is needed before a tire hits the track. I bet the Jaguar weekend (prior to ALMS) gets cancelled just to be sure.

I can't wait to run on that new surface - it'll be completely - so better - can't wait. Great pictures of the track. The paddock imrovements are great - hope they build new bathrooms.

Anyone have pics of west bend? That's being changed too, correct?

None of the 'changes' affect the config we run.
I have walked the perimeter a few times and couldn't get a grip on the Club portion of West Bend. Probably because the UH is so different it was clouding my mind!
The configuration ALMS will be running (new uphill, west bend) has a centerline length of 1.4 miles.
Driving line ~1.5.
Concrete curbing is being finished today.

new bathrooms are in the works but will not be completed til later in the year...
the "new" or alternate west bend will continue (not far) straight past the regular turn in and then turn very tight to the right to get back to the regular circuit and to the left to rejoin it...
almost like a chicane that you drive straight into if that makes sense
the alternate "esses" and "no name" as well as the new pit-in and pit lane will be completed later in the year.
as far as any camber changes go: they are making every effort to maintain the original contours of the main course. the survey they performed and the lengths they are going to to follow it are pretty incredible actually
I will forever miss the old look and the old pavement but I can't wait to drive the fresh pavement!!:026:
hope that answers some questions or concerns

Yummy...I can just feel the smoothness...but heading into that embankment into the "new" West Bend is not attractive. (Love the race-driving gloves...)
Boy, that new West Bend sure castrates the circuit for cars like ours. If SCCA ever decides to "try" that configuration, I think I'll skip that weekend. Looks mighty mickey mouse to me. And the new uphill looks even worse. I feel sorry for the "pros" who will have to run it.

Normal operation temp for asphalt was increased to 306 deg. @ indy gp circuit. Cure time for Miller Motorsports Park was 6 to 8 weeks.
They decided to postpone construction of the new pit entrance until later this year or early next year. I think the need to fully reconstruct Big Bend and the Esses from the ground up caused them to make that decision. Also delayed are the optional Left-Hander and the regrading and paving of the runoff area at the bottom of the Downhill.
