    Default Strut upgrade

    Hey guys,

It's about time to replace the old Koni (Sport) struts on the 240, and right now I'm thinking the 8611s are going to give me the best bang for the buck without getting into the real high-dollar stuff. Since I'm not really up on the latest import offerings however, I wanted to check with the rest of you Nismophiles and see if there was anything else I should be looking at. So how about it? What are you guys using?

If you're looking at 8611s, then really the only thing better than that (within reason) is Koni's 2817 strut. the former is ~$200 per insert and you have to fab up your own strut housing (unless someone's already done it); the latter is $1500 per strut built-to-spec by Koni and you bolt it in.

We run 8611s on the NX.

There is a guy over at http://nissanroadracing.com/vbulleti...read.php?t=103

That is making some nice custom housings for the 8611's

Don't let the website name fool you, its more of a "time attack" kinda crowd over there

We had lots of issues with the 8611's and switched to custom valved Bilstiens. I wrote up a review on this forum a while ago. We still have not had any issues with the Bilstiens falling apart, and I would strongly recomend the change
