New Track in Mt Kisco, NY

Just cam back form GPNY and had a great morning. The facility will be "the monkey's balls" when it's finished. In the meantime I recommend a visit. The most important part of the facility is up and running - the track(s). We ran the Uptown track - I beleive 12 turns and a corkscrew elevation change - Major fun. The concession it not finished yet so bring a cooler.

Shane had a couple of "hot shoes" with him and they seemed to be getting around pretty well - Needless to say they gave me a lesson.

A total blast - If anyone is organizing an outing, please keep me in mind - I not live close to GPNY but I am an easy "back marker."

Shane - thanks forthe invite.

I Just got a call - Shane broke the track record after I left - Way to go Shane.

Nice meeting ya Tim! Yeah, what fun that track is.... :023: Definitely better than On-Track but that is not to say the Wallingford track isn't a blast, and cheaper to boot! If GPNY ever decides to offer discounted race packages that's where my money will go, but right now it's twice as expensive as what I pay at On-Track. But still...I will be back.

Yes, we left there thinking Shane had the track record (just pipping me by .063) but when I got home I was looking over the print outs and actually I have the record from the third race we did. Shane - 28.332 (4th race)
Me - 28.310 (3rd race)

Walking in the record was a 28.591

I'll have to check this with Shane but it's seems a little screwey cuz even the timing board had him as the record holder.

No matter really as the times will surely fall as the track rubbers in some more...

Here's a link to some photo's I took, not the best but you will get an idea. And a link to a video on Youtube...

Also --- races where 9 minutes long but it really felt longer than that. We were getting 17 laps in....

Timmy,
It's all about the HP to weight ratio......;)

Tim,

Jeff beat me to it!!! You are #1 in my book. :smilie_pokal:

Just remember if you can keep up with them in the corners, you are at a disadvantage on the straights. That is what I tell my self all the time at ON-Track... :D Them dang hair-pin turns

My buddy Jeff has run 35.0++ something almost broke 34+ recently, he is 75lbs less than me. Bast**d... Get these 100+ lbs guys to carry some "ballast" LOL... I am waiting for the Kart tracks to equalize the Karts with ballast so it is an even playing field, then we will see...

Are they running the 9hp or 6hp Karts there???

Jay

Tim,

6hp.....but they are the same karts as the superkarts at Wallingford. They claim 9hp karts are no faster. Could be true as at On-Track I've seen "Phonman" pull 35.8's with the 6hp karts. They do say they have some (or one) dual engine kart(s) that are reserved for VIP/Investors only, 12hp, but that even those are marginably quicker... Supposively they lift the front wheels off the top of the climbs/start of decline sections..

Also forgot to mention that the karts are remotely electronically controlled during cautions or if you happen to be deemed to have been driving aggressively. They just slow you down..... That said, they do let you race pretty hard.

And there is a warm up lap so bunch up (karts will be sputtering) coming to the flag.

And - if you go as a group or whatever, you are gridded by when you sign up for a particular race. You sign up first - your in the first car and so on..

Driver weight 270# - I told Shane, "put Carol in the kart with him and then let's have a go at it" - He laughed and said, "I'll see YOU at NHMS fat man" - No excuses.
Just what I need, another Crazy Joe, with attitude:rolleyes:

I can see it now Timmy on a starvation diet for the next month and a half. :D

Damn timmah you be's a big boy, got me by 60lbs. I wonder what richy's race weight is? :D

Joe - It's pretty simple - I took the spare tire that I keep in the TEG for minimum # and put in on my waist for maximum belt holes.:( Truth be told, work is slower than I like, so that I went back to the gym last week - No more "Pinks" re-runs for me, it's Ellipticals, Cruches and Steam for timmah- Oh well.

Richie won't have toruble making weight - he purchased my escort "Wide Load" service, complete with flashing lights, CB radios, and GPS systems, for the front and rear runners.

It's time to come out of the cave.

the biggest difference between the 9 and 6 hp is the 9 hp have a little more torque out of the corners. They are probably good for 1/2 a sec. better lap times for a good driver. It all comes down to being smooth.

Well, I was hoping to get there Saturday, but it seems my wife has already booked me for the weekend.....something about a honey do list.

Online scoring/time keeping is up and running. Check for lastest results on track records and such...

Took the boys to the track yesterday - Learned a couple of "tricks" yesterday. The "fat man" chaulked up a 29.62 - Not bad for 270# - Improved my previous time by 1.01 seconds.
