Am I reading the current GCR correctly...
Is the weight of the Kool-Suit not added to the minimum weight any longer?
(Seems like under the old rules the minimum weight did not allow for the weight of the Kool-Suit.)
Thanks,
Todd

Give us a GCR reference.
To the best of my knowledge, the car is weigh as-is off the track. I can't imagine you would be required to remove equipment prior to weighing.
?????
Ditto....even if you think of a cool suit as being two parts, both are weighed at impound, as the car meets minimum with the driver...as raced.

Jake, is the rule is changed, ok. But I seem to remember that the car had to make weight after the race with all REQUIRED equipment. Since the cool suit is not required, it could not be used to make weight. Chuck

In the 2005 GCR:
11. Technical Inspection
11.2 Full Inspection
BB. Cool suits are allowed in all classes...Showroom Stock and Touring Cars shall meet the minimum weight with the system totally removed.
I can't find this verbage anywhere in the 2007 or 2008 GCR.
That is the reason for my question.
Has anyone had been questioned about cool suit at tech or weight?
Thanks,
Todd
2008 GCR
17. Weight: The minimum weight as listed on the SSCS line is with driver and required ballast. If a cool suit system is utilized, the cool suit system shall be weighed with the car as it came off the track.
For SS and Touring.

Done some racin'.
Thanks,
That answers the question.
48 quarts of water and ice sloshing around in the back should help a Honda turn.
Todd
yea, thats for SS and TOURING, not Improved touring...
It's a not so secret secret that option to position a heavy cooling system in the part of the car that needs weight is one reason to make sure the car makes sub minimum after the build.
