I can't find any directions on how to upload pics to a posting. I see everyone's car in the post. When you click the tree, they ask you for the url. Do I upload the pics to it.com forms?

Just need directions on how to insert pics in the post.

    Thanks

Rick before you can post them on IT.com you need to put them on the internet in some way shape or form. The free way is to use your storage from your ISP. Once you have these you can then upload them to IT.com.

If you are still confused, send the pics to me and I can post them for you.

Host the pics at www.imageshack.us - free and no sign up required, not even an email address - Couldn't be any simpler. Then click on the "tree" and put the link to the picture as the URL

Am I missing something?? Can't you just use the "file attachment" feature??

Yes you are missing something... You can't use the attachment button until the pictures are already being hosted on the web.

    You are both right.

You can include an image that's sitting on a web server somewhere, using the "little tree" tool, pasting in the URL for the image. That looks like this...

...or you can use the upload feature, which results in the little image with a link to the full-size version (as below).

Right, and if you choose to use the IT.com site as your "host" as Kirk has done with his smaller "Thumbnail", keep in mind that your "global space" is limited, and you can only get so many pics in before it fills and you must delete some.

Thats the part I love...you must go to "my controls" then you select "manage my attachments".....

We ALL manage our attachments, right???

Rick to post the big picture like K displayed, it has to be a picture on the web vs on your home computer. If it is on the web go to the website that you see the picture... Right click on the picture and select properties from the menu that pops up. That will pop up a new screen with info on the picture such as size, type, and the "URL." The URL starts with http

Once you have found the URL simply copy and past it like I have shown below without the * symbol in the IMG part.

    [IMG*]http://itforum.improvedtouring.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/bash_1_.gif [/IMG*]

If "URL" that I selected was for the smiley on this website.

hoping this helps, but it probably is just confusing the heck out of you... lol
