Say you were putting two NASCAR bars on the driver side of your 1st gen RX-7 using 1.75" DOM. What would be the proper spacing be between the rocker and the bottom bar and the bottom bar to the top bar?

I want the top bar to be high enough to aid driver entry (I sit on it when trying to wiggle into the seat) but not too much spacing as to reduce protection.

    Waddaya think?

    Hi Tom,

Tom Fowler over at OPM arranged ours, and I'm sure he can tell you more about it than I can. Basically, we had a single non-NASCAR bar, as was common. Tom's folks added a bar below the existing one. The new bar is really low, like almost on the sill. If you want, I can take some photos.

Edit: Oops, I just noticed you said NASCAR bars. Sorry about that.

I am not sure there is a “right” dimension. On my new cage we decided to align the top bar with the stock intrusion bar in the door and the bottom one just above the sill. Most of the post accidents I have seen have a low point of impact.
