I'm thinking about switching to the ISC Racing exhaust. However, I have to drive the car on the street occasionally.
So how loud is it? Ridiculous for street use? Anyone have any experience with this setup?
Also, how is it power-wise?
Thanks!

uh..If you mean the ITS 2nd gen exhaust, I don't think I would do it for more than VERY limited street use. It is pretty loud. It does make power though. IIRC, maybe 6-8 hp over the old style lloooonnngggg primary set-up. If you are comparing to a completely stock exhaust, the gains will probably be even larger.

Oop. Yes I mean for the 2nd Gen ITS RX-7. I have an aftermarket setup now that runs both pipes all the way back to two mufflers.
I also have some pretty tight noise restrictions on some tracks around here. 90db? I think. I don't want to get into a situation where I have to come up with track-side solutions to the noise.

I run mid-90's in sound with mine.

I run the 2nd gen ISC setup and I would have to say that street use is out of the question. I got black flagged last year at MidOhio for sound at 104/105. I installed a turn away facing opposite the mike and I have not been marked down since.
That's quite a discrepancy!
One ITS car with ISC is mid 90's , and one popped for over 103? Pauly, how old was your muffler? packing gone?

It is entirely possible. It is a Dynomax that is about 3 years old. The previous year at MidO I didn't have a sound problem, but the following year I did. A degraded muffler could have been the cause. Next Muffler I get will be the Borla XR-1.

My mid-90's is with a elbow turned away from the mic... I'm sure it's much higher on the other side of the car !

I have a first gen and yea, it isn't a valid comparo, but the cops have been known to arrive when the car is just shut off on the trailer....
Even mid 90s, (remember, we are talking about the oh so obnoxious rotary raaaaaaaaaaaaap sound here) is not street friendly.
I HAVE heard 13Bs in ITS cars be able to sneak around a bit IF they run well cold and keep the throttle closed.

So is there a muffler that's quieter that I could substitute?
What's up with the Borla XR-1? Is it especially quiet?
