I vote Wednesday night through Sunday night.
As I recall, Jake has already agreed to provide the motorhome with hot tub and hot tub warmers.

Well, it's only 19 days until I leave the great state of Wisconsin to begin the trek down!
Where should we all meet, and when? I know nothing about the track, so I'd like to rely on people that have been there to point out the good places to go.

Bill,
Good question. There are several places to meet at the track. At one time we were planning on an RV as IT.com central, but I believe Dave won't be able to make it--at least I haven't heard of an update and don't know how to reach him aside from this board.
Off track, however, I would recommend that casual bar/restaurant that is part of the Chatea Elan complex, about 5 miles from the track. I believe it has an Irish name.

Sounds good to me - we'll be staying at the Holiday Inn Express across the street.Originally posted by gsbaker:

Yep, I'll be real smart in the mornings....

Then you will go and ruin it by putting on a drivers suit..Originally posted by JIgou:

Found it: Paddy's Irish Pub. The food's good and jeans are okay. Plus it's close; the next selections would mean getting on the interstate.

I don't get in until Friday, but I can make it for dinner. What, 7:00?
First round is on me.
Gregg
BTW, any golfers out there? Huh? Maybe?
Oh well. Never mind. Stupid question.

I swing a driver from time to time.
But I suck...still, might be better than I did last year!

That's a setup if I ever heard one. You probably shoot scratch, Jake.Originally posted by lateapex911:

Okay, you're on. But you gotta spot me ten strokes.

If you see a guy in a white (corner worker) monkey suit, wearing a hat that says "NutDriver Racing", relax, we're not dangerous, we're just The Nuts. We're going to try to get by the gathering, but it might be tough. We're working corners but will only be there Saturday and Sunday, and the social Saturday night is the annual Worker Appreciation event. So it'll probably be late Saturday before we get there.
Which begs the question, was there ever a decision on where it would be?

Since Friday night their will be a post racing party at the track maybe we can have this gathering at Paddy's on Thursday night for those that came down early?
Will their be an improuvedtouring.com central location with motorhome still? If so we could skip out on Paddy's and get some grills fired up on Thursday night instead??? What are everyones interests?
Raymond
Unfortunately, there won't be an IT.com RV this year. The person who said they'd take care of getting and returning it isn't coming this year.
Thursday night at Paddy's works for me, but Gregg won't be there, yet. I think we'll all have to get together on Friday night at the party (I'll have the homebrew with me) and start telling lies there. We can decide on what to do from there...

Bill's idea makes sense. We can always try Paddy's on Saturday night.
Too bad about the RV.

But I still suggest running away from them.... or at least thats what the Surgeon General tells me.Originally posted by CaptainWho:

I thought the big party at the track was Saturday night after all the awards and such. I remember (well, sort of) getting reeeeal sloshed at that last year.
Does that mean nothing going on at the track Friday night? I'd be up for the Irish Pub place idea but I will not have a street car to get there. Hmmm, I also don't know how much "fun" I want to have the night before the ARRC. Sorry, it's my first time actually running it and I'm already nervous.
Well, whatever night. I'll be there Thursday - Sunday in a 35ft RV with a bright orange ITA Integra. Shouldn't be hard to miss.

Sounds like you guys should do Thursday. You can fill me in later, and/or send me a bill for the first round!
Gregg
I don't know how fast Kevin is in the RV, but he really flies in that Integra.I'll be there Thursday - Sunday in a 35ft RV with a bright orange ITA Integra. Shouldn't be hard to miss.[/b]

I'll be there wandering around looking kind of lost.
I'll be bringing Shiner Bock. Yum yum.

Oh yeah, too bad about the RV. We rented one for a race at Texas Motor Speedway last year and decided that was by far the best way to go racing. What a blast.
