Default Exhaust header and system choices

I'm considering a new exhaust system. I now have RB header with two 2 inch pipes that join over the rear axle. The stainless headers look interesting. So does the 3 inch exhaust. Has anyone compared the various headers and pipe configurations? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each option? Power, torque, high RPM vs. lower RPM etc.

Since you mention only one axle...can we assume we are talking 1st gen in ITA?

There have been previous threads on this. I think you can search and find them. My system is an old RP header into long, fairly straight dual 2" pipes that bend slightly under the axle and come together at the end into a single Walker racing muffler. Quiet enough, and gives me great power.
