Great action shots James. I especially like #154 because I'm right on Gregg's bumper and #173 because it shows Brad, Sean and Larry fighting (with me in the background). From your pics it sure looks like those three guys had a heck of a race. If any of you had an in car video going you should give Dave a copy to play in the shop. I'd love to watch it.

Matt has most of the battle on his tape. He did great he was with that pack till the halfway mark then it started dropping off a bit.

AJ's spin was actaully me trying to get a good action shot, I got more then I wanted.

I was sad to see the ITE eclipse car go up in smoke, even after the driver pulled his internal bottle it was still smoldering under the hood. Too much turbo temp?

It was a great battle from the start. I need to find a better vantage point for that telephoto I was using, it only has 15mm of change to it (its a latch on for a non SLR camera.) I think its time for me to upgrade to a D1 if I want any decent pictures.

Of course if anyone wants the full image size (only 1600x1200 but good for an 8x10 print) let me know. I can e-mail them or print them for the next race I can make it up.

James, The pics are great - one thing though - TOO many pics of MATT. Gotta be bad for the camera.

More like it was bad for Kez (my auxillary brake pad) - don't worry, I don't get mad, I get even...

James - great shots, esp helpful cause Jimmy Sykes wasnt around - hmm maybe he could hire you..

anyway, glad you were there, and yes that was prob the best wheel to wheel action I've had in a long time, Sean, Matt, Brad and I will talk about it for years to come. After Matt fell behind, Sean, Brad, John and I continued for almost the entire race swapping positions and keeping our pack REAL tight!

    Great racing everyone!!

I don't know about that. But I bet he could give me a whole lot of pointers on using my camera better then I currently do.

Then again just like racing, practice does make perfect. July is going to be one crazy month, but if all works out and I can make the glen I will likely do my best to make the best of that and my camera.

Sometimes I feel like I bite off more then I can chew. But then I remember just keep chewing and it will be done.

    Guys
Be nice to Matt. It is not his fault that he is a vertically challenged Southern redneck. Its all about inbreeding, err breeding.

Besides, he seems to be able to hit people and get away with it.

    cheers

    Dave,

I am just as short as Matt and I could never sit that low in a car. Plus I am sure once I get out there for the drivers school he will have a large ammunition of attacks on me.

I'm not under-height, it's all you freaks of nature that are over 5'6" tall and I can see just fine from my drivers's seat. I just use my front bumper as a feeler to ensure that I'm as close as I think I am

In all seriousness - nice race with Brad, Sean, John and Larry. I now fully realize that my car is WAY DOWN on power. Hopefully I can remedy that before the end of the season so I can give y'all a run.

    James
Remember that Matt's cage and seat combination was built for a short round man with a big ASS.

It is setup perfectly for DWO, eye level is maybe a 1/2 inch above the dash.
The only thing he is missing is the big floppy hat and the Cadillac.
Of course if he raced the Cadillac he would be in T1 or T2 where it is accepted that you WILL hit everything but the pacecar.

    cheers

I like to put my mASS low in the car, thank you. What's funny is to put freaks of nature (again, people over 5'6" tall) in my car and have them comment that the pedals are too far away and the seat is too low - whimps.

As for the Cadillac - had one 20+ years ago but no floppy hat b/c my name isn't Guido, the Killer Pimp. I didn't hit anything with that car although it certainly would have done serious damage at any speed over 1 mph.

well we have some *tricks* to make Matt faster yet: two toothpicks to hold his eyes open should keep him from rear ending rx-7's, but I think we need to take my white VW and glue tufts of wool to the back of it - this will definately keep Matt close behind me - and ensure he will never pass me!!
