Suspension Control
In reference to 9.1.3.5.c.1 on the bottom of 2008 GCR page 335
Any roll bar(s), traction bar(s), panhard rod or watts linkage may be added or substituted, provided its/their installation serves no other purpose. The mounts for these may be welded or bolted to the structure of the vehicle.
So, what's considered a legal purpose and an illegal purpose?
1) Reinforcement for the purpose of siffening the chassis?
2) Reinforcement for the purpose of not ripping the mount off of the structure?
Also define structure? Does the structure include suspension memebers such as control arms? If not then how are alternate roll bars added? Say my vehicle has been known to rip the mount off of the control arm. Can I not "add" a new mount that's less likely to rip off then use this?
BTW, everyone that assumes I'm staying in ITE, well I'm not.
