Over the weekend I decided to change my rear shoes(1990 Civic Si). Of course the drums had a little lip on the inside but the braking surface was fine. Which is amazing beacause they have 132,000 miles on them and 40,000 include autocross/track time and club racing.I wanted get rid of the lip because it is a pain to get the drums off.So I used my own "creative" brake lathe(do this at your own risk). I bolted the drums on backwards to the front.Put the car in 4th gear and let it idle. Then I used a air grinder to grind a bevel on the outer edge. Now the drum comes off a lot easier.Again do this at your own risk but it worked.
