I moved one of those this weekend as well... I will say I think jersey barriers on pavement may be safer than guardrails, They slide and do what they are intended to do, stop the car. In your case the Jersey barrier didn't slide and absorb as much energy as it slowed you down.

in the couple of laps before the crash, eyewitnesses at the bottom of turn 10
said that my left rear wheel was bouncing, rather than just the hopping it normally
does, so we are going to check to see if the shock failed ... if so, what probably
happened is that while I normally have to dial in a little correction to counter the sliding
and hopping rear tires... but if it/they were bouncing, then the same amount of correction
would be way too much, and that's what shot me into the tires/jersey barrier on drivers left

so I borrowed the red #55 RX7 we helped build for Bob's nephew Ricky so that
I could get some racing in on Sunday ... had to make a few adjustments (Ricky
    is 6'10" and I am .... not)

unfortunately, Ricky had pre-murdered his engine by unknowingly running it
without coolant for a lap after his kiss with the turn 2 wall in the May school,
and we weren't quite sure how long the engine would last.... on Sunday morning
we found out ... it had three laps left in it.

So... we have a roller completely ready, caged, logbooked, and with suspension
and brakes etc, ...to accept the drivetrain and diff .... purchased and ready for just
this eventuality ... and think we can get it fully put together and adjusted in two
    weekends

However, now that we need to build a new engine for Ricky to run Thomson too, it
is too much to try to squeeze in the alloted time, so we are going to build Ricky's engine,
and Bob is lending me the 82 car for Limerock, he will be there to crew ... we just have
to change the seat, and drop in a replacement tranny (we have a bunch in rotation)

On the 14 ... everything important seems fine ... so the switchover to the roller
should be an easy between season project.... no worries

It takes 3 days to swap all the stuff from one wrecked shell to a good caged log booked car. Plenty of time.

PS Im not real busy at the Skunk Works right now.
All posts are made by a fat old guy with a crappy old car that isnt supported by a factory anymore and therefore should not be taken seriously, EVER

We buy our tires at WalMart 205/50-15 NT-01 $148.00 last all season and go faster as they wear out........

Wow, Jeff how did you do that? Miss shift? Matt took that path avoiding me when I did a miss shift up the hill. I will say that Thompson has trained me well in how to shift from second to third and last weekend I didn't miss a single shift :-)

Yikes!! Sorry Matt. I didn't realize it was that close. That was strange "incident". Usually once I hit the transition and at full throttle the car stays fairly straight but stepped out on me suddenly and I over corrected. Maybe there was some fluid down? Yeah, YEAH, that's it!!

Since I had lost touch with the leaders after going off, it was fun racing with you and Brian in the Corvette. Very interesting dynamics!!

    Jeff

That looks like a brain fart. The transition is at the bottom of the hill.
Was that the race where Brian spun the Corvette in the bowl turn.

That's what I'm saying. once I hit the transition and am at full throttle, I don't have that problem. That's why I found it unusual.

No worries Jeff, you notice that none of us lifted. If it had ended badly I would not have posted it.
