For sale: 73 ITC Corolla project

Classic 73 TE27 Corolla SR5 former ITC race car (no title). No motor, but has 5-spd and 6.7 inch rear end (of unknown condition). Full welded cage. I got this car as part of a package deal when I bought my current car two years ago. It hasn't been raced in quite a while and is in rough condition. But it could make a nice track/autoX/drift car with a lot of TLC. Car is located in Cincinnati area. $500 or make offer.

Agreed, would a GREAT vintage race car. If someone wants some info on setting this up for vintage racing with the VSCDA, PM me. We race at Gingerman, Grattan, Blackhawk Farms, and Elkhart Lake. Would race in the small bore Group 2 withe 1.2 motor. Let's help Bearcat74 get this unique car sold and back on the track!

I PM'ed Bob this weekend- car still for sale. Buy it and race it with the VSCDA. Dexter isn't that far from either Gingerman or Grattan. Race it with a 1.6 in Group 8 or a 1.2 in Group 2. Either way, would also be eligible for Under 2.5 Liter Trans-Am group as well. Please buy it so I don't have to! (I have already rescued a Fiat 128, a Datsun 610, and two first Gen Honda Civics over the last 20 years from racing hell, ie the scrapyard).

No logbook. I can't find a logbook number stamped on the cage either. I don't know the car's history. It has an ITC decal, but has the rear anti-roll bar mounted in the trunk (which is illegal in IT?) It hasn't been raced in quite a while judging from the style of the racing seats (see photo above).

I bought it. It's very rusty, too rusty for me to spend the time to build a proper vintage racer out of it. The driver's side rocker and floor will have to be entirely rebuilt, as well as the passenger side rocker area. The rockers need inner and outer from the A pillar to at least the B pillar. The rear wheel tubs were enlarged with some cutting and a pop riveted piece. That needs to be done better,too. I'm going to start with those areas and see where I go next. It will likely end up as my GRM Challenge car and get use as a track-rat/HPDE vehicle afterwards. So, structural repairs first, then drive train work.I'll be looking for suitable engine/transmission combos to slot into it , but I won't buy anything until I'm satisfied with the welding part of the project. The cage in it is nowhere near acceptable by any standards I'm aware of. The front half is connected to the main roll hoop with gusset plates in three spots, not fishmouthed and welded properly. Lots of work ahead of me.
