    Default Logbook Question

I am racing the ARRC enduro (November 3) and have a logbook question. (Unless my car ends up selling before hand)

I always arrive Thursday to be at the test day and register then for the weekend. My last annual was done on 11-1-2012. My question is, if I register for the weekend before 11-1-2013, even though my race is after 11-1-2013, does it need an annual for that weekend and can it have an annual done before its "expiration date?"

I only ask as I know tech can be busy at the ARRC and wanted to arrive knowing what I should do, I'd get it done before hand but won't have much time and don't have a trailer to take it anywhere so have always just had it done at the track.

    Thanks!

Since the event begins on 11-1-2013, you are probably good as long as you get tech'd on Friday.

You can get another annual done on-site. - GA

They'll usually let you slide if it's right at 1-year. however, if you know the car is going to pass annual tech, then just get it done sometime during the test day or early during registration..

As soon as you get there, go find a tech guy and tell them you need an annual, ask them when would be the best time to come by and get the annual done.

Usually I get mine done at 10-11 months just because I'll look over and the tech guys are about to fall asleep with boredom Sat morning, so I just run it by and get it done when there's no wait.

Another point - having a recent annual inspection will make your car easier to sell,

Yeah if I still have it by then I will get it done, it's current until 11/1 right now.

Not to be pedantic, but since I do a lot of limit testing, are you sure that the annual isn't only good until 10/31/13?

Hmm, actually I might argue you are good thru Nov 2013, the term "once a year" is not well defined in the rule.

Best bet is contact chief of tech now so you aren't surprised.

    A. Annual Inspection
A car must have full and complete Annual Technical Inspection by a
tech inspector holding either a Divisional or National license once a year
(12 months). If the car passes the inspection, the tech inspector enters
the date of the safety harness expiration in the Vehicle Logbook; he
then stamps, decals, or inscribes approval; dates and signs the Vehicle
Logbook. The driver’s safety equipment does not have to be inspected
at the same time the car is inspected, but it must be inspected by or at
the driver’s first race of each calendar year. (See 9.3.20.A.)

    You could be right.

If I have the car by the ARRC I will get it done at the track.
