    Default new logbook/roll cage

putting a cage into an abandoned project car. my own....

car will be STL and ITA CRX. i am pretty sure i know the response but since the GCR sometimes refers to "Production" as a class and other times as an overall category "Production based cars" i want to make sure this is ok.

planning on 1.5" by 0.095" for good up to 2699 #'s per GCR page 118 for Production based cars.

    ITA weight is 2250
STL weight is 2160 (with 1.6L engine)

if i go with a 1.8L swap later in STL, then weight is 2430 per GCR page 546

    chris,

thanks for the offer. i plan to use some of my photos of Greg's cage and do some bartering with Adam Jabaay (LeMons teammate) for the cage. i have a "kit" that i picked up from Lee Grimes some years ago. so it is mostly welding better than mine that i need help with right now..

i hope to do the 3 majors and you are in route. with majors at MIS and Gingerman, those are pretty close tows.

June Sprints would be nice for the 3rd but i have always wanted to do the IT/Grand Am weekend at Mid Ohio as well.

is the kit all DOM steel BTW?

this shouldn't be an awful project, if the bends are anywhere near what we'd want

I've also got 1 5/8' DOM tubing here, that we can easily add to the cage with. Its what I added to my ITA cage ( was all 1.5'' ) with

It's DOM but for any "extra" bars I would likely go with 1.25"

I oversized my stuff due to them being in impact zones...door bars...etc. wasn't too concerned with much else
