    how long is my helmet good for? its a snell SA2005 mfg 2/06

    at least through 2015. Based on what happened with 2010, it will depend on when SA2015 comes out.

    Actually, it is not based on the adoption of the next standard but on whether there is enough product available to satisfy demand. For many years SCCA has delayed the adoption of the latest standard by a year to let the pipeline fill (from multiple manufacturers). So, 2016 is almost certain to be the first time that SA2005 helmets become non-compliant.
