Not having run in that long, there going to be quite a bit of "going over" that it needs prior to competition. Then add in the cage updates (passenger door bar), additional ballast, new belts, new tires, possibly updated fire system, etc and there ends up being a not insubstantial amount of work needed. I've seen very well prepped and currently competition ready ITA CRX's go for less than $4-5k recently. What you're describing is worth at most the $2,500 mentioned above and potentially quite a bit less depending on what parts are on the car, spares package, and overall car condition.

I have not been on in awhile. It is an 80s CRX. I have not had a chance to go through any of it. The car was a friends car that is sitting for some time.

    First Gen CRX....'84-'87
    Second Gen CRX....'88-'91

First Gens run in B or C, depending on if they're fuel injected or Carb.
Seconds can run in A, B, or C depending on type of fuel injection and
    4 or 5 speed trans.

Incredibly good ready to race A....$8000-10,000
    B.....$3000-4000
    C.....$2000-3000
    Or not!

And there's an "incredibly good ready to race A" CRX on the market right now with all the parts to run NASA PTD (and a truck-load of spares) for something like $9,500... and there's the ex-Ruck ITS Prelude for ~$10k that hasn't sold despite being on the market for months... and my prior "body in white" Civic Sedan ITA car for ~$8,500.

As awesome as these cars are and as much as they cost to build, the market is tough right now for anything more than $3-4k.

I cleaned up the car and got it running. It has a fuel cell. Bolt cage. No full bars on the passenger side. Two horizonal bars on the driver side. It is no 1.75 tubing, must be 1.5.

The rear has coil over adjustable shocks. The front has a koni strut, but a torsion bar or something front end. Are they all like this? No springs?
