I've run Megasquirt for quite a few years now. Started with MS1, then MS2, and now MS3. Each upgrade provided significant accuracy and feature improvements. I would recommend that you only consider the MS3.

You do NOT want to use the "standard" B&G firmware for a rotary engine. For MS1 and MS2 you need the "Extra" version. For MS3 the only firmware available is from the "Extra" lineage.

Do not use the MegaManual for rotary information. It only documents the B&G firmware. Here's the primary source of information about the MS "Extra" firmware - http://www.msextra.com/

Feel free to ask questions. Make sure you figure out the right hardware to use before you buy it.

I looked into it for a while and would echo Marty's comments to use the MS3.

Ultimately i couldn't find a reputable dyno locally to work with me to tune it.

My car now has a Microtech installed and running great because that's what the local rotary shop knew and trusted. Call around and see what shops around you can and will tune before making an ecu choice.

You need to talk to Peter FLorance at PF Tuning in Virginia Beach. He's incredibly knowledgeable, responsive and he gets it done with MS (he did the MS2 and then the MS3 in my car).

Take teh car to him, let him sort it out, and then go get it. I may cost you $1500 or so but all of the electrical issues you have been having will end, and you'll have a reliable car.

I don't know Peter personally, but he's a very familiar and respected presence on the Megasquirt forums. Indeed, very knowlegeable and experienced.
