March ECR @ Road Atlanta

I've heard a few drivers mention that the March ECR may be cancelled since it's a Majors weekend, is this a possibility? Just curious.

That's correct - no ECR on that weekend.

Would the Atlanta Region consider moving the ECR to the May 18-19 weekend? I hate to lose an ECR opportunity at this part of the region.

Saw Pro IT is still on during the Majors weekend, tempting, I've never done a sprint race though.

Would have been nice if someone had updated the SEDiv or the ECR schedule for some of us who planned our vacation around that date. I am sure they just made this decision this past weekend that is the reason. I suspect this maybe the beginning of the end for ECR.

This is probably close to the end for the ProIT, but I am sure ECR will be fine. We are going up to VIR in March to run the ECR.

In response to the question about ECR at the March Race, unfortunately with the Majors we just couldn't fit an ECR into the weekend. We are however going to offer a Pro-IT race during the Majors weekend.

Looking further into the calendar we are going to offer both ECRs and Pro-IT at the July race and ARRC in November.

CCR has also added an ECR to the August 17/18 Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It will be run Saturday night under full full speedway lighting with a Carolina Pro Cup Race. Plenty of places to play.

Steve, I saw that. Can't wait! That will be 1.5hr ECR I assume?

Yep, 1.5 hour. Similar to how Atlanta ran the Pro IT with an ECR. CCPS will run first 45 minutes, and everyone running the ECR will continue. You can run both if you want. Still working on all the details, but it will happen.

I spoke with Trevor at Daytona about the extra 100 lbs we were adding to all Integra's on long tracks.

Nick, certainly appreciate the July & Nov ECR's, just hate to lose that 3rd one at a place I can get to from up near the Mason-Dixon.

I figured the Major's schedule was the issue. I imagine ECR's work best when paired with Pro-IT, so tough to do on the Rational weekend.

I'll definitely run the July round and the ARRC again, I'd love to go to CMS but just won't be able to afford it. Living within non-towing distance from Road Atlanta is a huge plus. lol

ECR at CMS is pretty cool. Great idea. The Mustangs seem capable of the 1.5 hr format as both made it through ECRs at VIR, so I think we're going to have to give and ECR at CMS a try.
