Thread: Stl or stu?

    Default Stl or stu?

Would a ITR RX8 race in STL or STU if at a national?
    Also would it be competitive?

The ITR-spec RX-8 is an STU car. But then again, so is all ITR cars.

STU but only because the brakes are to big for STL. doesn't matter if it is an ITR car or not, all RX8 are not eligable unless you find smaller aftermarket brakes.

not a chance as a stu car.

Why not the turbo version from the FD Rx-7? Should get tons of power from that set up. Hopefully, the new weight to TIR for rear and four wheel drives should slow down the turbo's to the EP power/speed level.

If the new TIR/weight limits don't reign in the turbo's, then either the class will crash as all the N/A cars will go somewhere else or the turbo cars should get tossed into GT.

No turbos allowed, right? The FD can only compete as a N/A motor in GT3 I thought. Or in your region's catch-all class (ITE up here).

Yup. Regs allow 2L-and-under ITS/A/B/C cars in STL. If you're ITR (actually, any IT car, '85 and newer) you're automatically eligible for STU. -G
