    Default Integra OBD2 Questions

So I am preparing a 98 Integra LS for ITA and picked up a used Header and Exhaust for it. This system only has one O2 sensor and does not have a cat. How will only having one O2 sensor and no cat affect the OBD2 ECU on the track?

Engine is currently stock other than the exhaust and at some point, it will get an OBD1 ECU and probably Hondata but curious how it will run on OBD2...

Shouldn't make any difference other than the CEL illuminating. I used to have a street/DE 2001 ITR with OB2 and a test pipe. Missing the post-cat O2 sensor makes the ECU throw a code but doesn't imapct performance.

there are tricks to fooling the CEL w/O cat

weld in 2nd bung, a ways downstream. Space second bung out off the pipe several inches with a tube so its not reading the exhaust flow very well.

its worked a few times for us.

Good idea... I'd forgotten about that as an option. Looks like spacers are available for cheap:

you can use spark plug " non foulers" too...basically a spacer for spark plugs. We chop em up for 02 sensor bungs in custom exhausts

I was wondering about some way to install the second O2 sensor but make sure it 'sees' what it needs to to be happy. May just run it for a couple events with just the one sensor for now- will see how the project goes.

    Thanks for the help!!
