Thread: Trans lube for Neon?

    Default Trans lube for Neon?

    Howdy,

What transmission lubrication are you folks using in your Neon IT cars? I had heard somewhere that the manufacturer recommended Mopar Type M.S.9417 Manual transaxle fluid was a compromise fluid for both the manual trans as well as the automatic? The shop manual doesn't really bear that out though.

ACR trans with 4.12 gears and a Steve E. clutch diff. Steve said to use whatever fluid I normally would.

I've always had good luck with Redline MTL. 3 seasons with it in my ITA neon with no issues, although I do have a quaiffe.

Where did you get the clutch based diff?

Thanks. Redline MTL would be fine with me...

Steve Eckerich made the diff. Its one of his custom ones, built from a stock diff.
