    Default Cal Club IT

I was looking at the results from the Willow Springs race on February 25-26 and saw that its a pretty short list attendance wise. I'm wondering is this just an off weekend or is it normally like this? I also noticed that most of the cars are ITA and Mazda's. Does anybody race in ITB? I don't want to start racing in a class nobody races in. Plus are there any other fast cars that arnt Mazda's that race in ITA or ITB?

    Thanks for the responses

Entries just aren't very strong on the west coast. NW Region has been even worse than what you're seeing, if numbers haven't changed in the past couple years.

Most of those ITA cars are probably double-dippping Spec Miatae.

There are lots of good options in A and B. Take a look at results from Washington DC, SEDiv and NE area races for actual results.

Where do you live silver? IT has a reasonable showing in the Norcal area, but the SEdiv, and Nediv are very strong, relatively speaking. Nationally, ITA, S and B are some of the stronger classes, behind SM and SRF...

I live in Ventura County. About an hour north of LA and an hour and a half away from Willow Springs raceway.

Hey - I grew up in Camarillo. I know an IT racer in the Santa Barbara area, but it seems like he, and most of the IT racers he knows have coinciding other issues keeping them from the track. Gary just had shoulder surgery, so probably won't be running his ITS car again until next year.

I am traveling to the central coast area from Chicago every week for work right now. I have considered trying to work out a weekend to see some stuff, and make it out to the track one weekend...

Anybody have ideas for an ITB car? I looked at the results in the DC region and even there a lot of the guys are running miatas. Does anybody think a mk1 GTI would compete well?

Most IT folks that are still running with CalClub have moved to STU or the regional RS class.

    ITB....

Stacey lost her job, and has been out of work for a couple of years. She's only just found a new job, but probably won't be back with her Probe until next season.

Rodger, has to build a new motor for his Shelby. He's taking this year off to work on a Healey.

Sandro, last I heard has to replace his transmission. He should be back later this season.

That's all of the people who've been running ITB for the past 3-4 years.

Is there a big cost difference between ITA and ITB?

Your best bet to have competition is:

    #1 Spec Miata
    #2 Spec Racer Ford
    #3 T1, with a C5/C6 Corvette ( Unofficially known as Spec-Vette )
    #4 ITA...
    #5 Formula Vee

After that it's pretty much pick your poison and get a trophy....
