    Default Cold air intake

Have you all seen any gains by adding a cold air intake to the ITB 1.8L 8V engine? Although the stock air intake is already away from the engine it does seem, in theory, that there would be some benefit to getting cooler faster flowing air into the air box.

Is there anything to be gained with this type of modification?

The stock intakes for the A2 are both cold air style - from the right fender or from the right headlight bucket. I use the latter.

Never tried to measure a gain. I have to think that under hood temperatures are lower than you might expect at speed...
