    I was at HF a couple of years ago and saw in their discount and discontinued section two containers of steel shot. They were each 25 lbs and came in plastic bottles that were a bit samller then 1 gal. bottles. I picked the two up for $2 each.

    I thought about using them for ballast but at this point I don't need any unless it's helium ballast! LOL

    did the wheel weights bit for the MR2.. lots of steel weights now days so you loose about 1/2 of the weight you get from the tire shops.. took I think two 4 gallon buckets full and I ended up with ~200lbs of lead in 5 convinent bricks that were bolted to the passenger side floorboard.. Dollar store for cooking pan and mold pan.. turkey fryier, and a respirator and welding gear for saftey.
