No SCCA Events at AMP in 2011

Although paving is now underway, I got word last week from track management that Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) will NOT be ready for our either our June 25-26 or July 30-31 weekends there. No other weekends are available in 2011, so it will be (at least) 2012 before there are any Atlanta Region SCCA events at that facility.

Any plans to move it elsewhere? Like Barber or Road Atlanta?

No. The "non-spectator" nature of AMP allows us to run events (stand-alone Track Trials, PDX, and Drivers' Schools) that we cannot run at Road Atlanta or Barber, so we added those events (plus another SARRC race) to our schedule when it looked like the track would be done in time. We'll still have our traditional events at Road Atlanta plus the Labor Day weekend Double SARRC at Barber - we just won't have any additional events in 2011.

. May 21-22 - "Rational" (combined National and SARRC), Track Trials, Pro-IT, PDX at Road Atlanta
. July 16-17 - Double SARRC, Double Pro-IT, ECR (concurrent with Pro-IT #1), PDX at Road Atlanta
. Sept 2 - SCCA test day at Barber
. Sept 3-4 - Double SARRC, Pro-IT at Barber
. Oct 22-23 - Level Four Time Trial (aka - Hill Climb) at Tate Reserve near Jasper (tentative)
. Nov 4-6 - ARRC by GRM, Pro-IT, Three Hour ECR, PDX at Road Atlanta
