The recomendation made to me and I followed it, years ago, was the Racer Walsh header with the collector next to the engine, with a 3in secondary pipe. Ours was custom bent at a local muffler shop (Muffler Man), followed the contours of the floor, and dumped down just in front of the axle. That way we had the pipe nestled partially into the tunnel.

It had a somewhat loose connector, and the pipe was carried high...barely visible when looking under the car. We never had difficulty with cracked header tubes, or lack of security of the pipe under the car. LOUD!

There could be changes, as that was a few years ago. I'd recommend going to the MiniStock sites where the 2.3 is very commonly used, and inquire as to what is current thinking for exhaust technology.

    Good racing.

The last one is the style, although mine was four into one, not tri-y. Price is almost the same.

    What about Esslinger Engineering's headers?

Similar engines to my Volvo's SOHC I-4 so I'm interested in what the Ford guys find success with.

Why don't more people race these things? You have, like, nine choices for a header and they aren't a bazillion dollars...

And that's a bad thing how? The logic behind racing a Mustang is the same reasoning behind why I chose a Pinto. Parts are really available, doner cars are all around, and you can gets lots of seat time because they are strong like bull. You have to work real hard to break one. AND THEY HAVE REAR WHEEL DRIVE.

    Default Mustang Header

For the bucks,($30/$50), you can't beat a Ranger header. You can always up grade when you get fast.

Hey! Its a tractor motor. The last thing it needs is big primarys. Save them for "ricers".

I am not sure if that will be a perfect fit bot there is more than enough room under the hood.
