Thread: Best Neon header?

    Default Best Neon header?

    Howdy,

I need to do a little exhaust work to quiet my car down and get rid of the crush bends on the exhaust pipe.

It occurs to me that I might want to ditch the mid-length header I have today, and I'd rather not fab stuff for to match up to a header I don't want to run.

Is there an accepted "best one" header for a '95 SOHC ITA Neon? The Kirk Racing long tube is attractive at around $200, but I'm not sure what other options are out there I should be looking at.

The current header I have is a midlength header, but I'm not sure of the brand.

Car has the stock 3.94 final drive, it if matters, with the mopar performance ECU. On track the 2->3 shift seems to put the rpms in 3rd just below the power curve based on seat of the pants.

    Appreciate any pointers!

I third the TTI. Beautiful, sturdy construction. Head to the bottom of the page.

    Howdy,

    Thanks for the info folks.

Do I want the thermal coating as well, or just the bare header? I'll spend the extra if it helps performance, but obviously would rather save the $100+ if it doesn't do much.
