    Default Good Radio?

My car is wired for a in car driver to crew radio and is my helmet, but I don't have a radio.

What is a good and well priced radio to get?

I have the push to talk button, plugs for helmet and radio and antenna wires.

Do they have to be "racing" radios or will any work with that plug?

    Hey Simon! Start here.

there are a number of different connectors and plugs in use. You'll need to know what you have before you go any further. These folks have it all, know their stuff and are pretty down to earth.

Cool thanks! I'll snap a pic of my connectors and shoot them an e-mail. Thanks again!

If you have the PTT harness in the car, look at the connector end for the radio and look at sites to get an idea of what radio the harness is for. Most of the time you are dealing with Motorola, Vertex or Kenwood which seem to be the most popular systems. Based on that you can either buy new or buy off ebay and build your own setup. My headset and two radios was about 350 total, I have yet to set the car up for radio, but slowly gathering parts over time to make that possible.

Hey Simon- all we need to know is what the connection on the radio end looks like? After that we can give you a good idea of which radios you can run in your current harness set-up. The other option is that your harness is a universal, which means all we need to do is add the correct radio jumper and your good to go!
