Default Fun One @ the Glen...what is STU ?

    Hey all,
I was wondering what STU is again ? Is it semi production cars under 2.5 L ? I was thinking of double dipping at the FUN ONE. Just for seat time ...

Anybody got some half decent 225/50/14's for sale...?

Cant wait to get back on track...

    Super Touring Under

Among other eligible cars (The GCR section relevant for you, 9.1.4(B ) Page 407 of 2010 GCR)......

GCR listed IT cars, 1985 and newer, under the current IT specifications.

Cars shall compete as follows: 3000cc and below are eligible for STU. 3001cc and above are eligible for STO.

The last bullet point seems to suggest that I can run any car in ST, right? There is a list of STO eligible cars, but none for STU.

Any make/model, as long as it meets the eligibility and prep.

    Stephen,
I am going to run Elliot's old car a couple times this year. Then over the Fall-Spring build the other car. The other shell I have is really much better shape. The older car is a bit rough, but runable for sure. I figure get out and have some fun before winter.

John, do you know Steve and Pam mcnarry (not sure if I spelled that correctly) anyway they have 2 coupes that where very fast and only ran a few times after being built. Possibly you could get a deal on one of those two cars... or even both of them.

My car is old and I would never sell it but if you want to try it out your welcome to. It is fast and can run up front with the best of them. We have unique suspension that I have not scene on any other car and I will gladly show you exactly what we did.

I loved building my own car and I am excited for my new build so I highly reccomend building your own! Call anytime! (Where do you live anyway)

    Steven,
I dont know of the McNarry's, I do remember a long time ago seeing a Coupe at the Glen that wasn't yours or Raymond's car.

The Blue car in the right of the pic already has a Cage and Camber Plates welded in. So, really , I am just going to bolt in the suspension and motor/transmission stuff and paint it. Should be a fairly straight forward swap...

I would love to poke around your car just to try and get a handle on what should be where. I have to admit...I am not to good of a "wrench" and much prefer driving rather than building. I really appriciate the offer to try out your car, but I figure I get a handle on mine first . You know, just to get a feel of things again.

I live in Scotia NY..about 10-12 miles west of Albany.

You guys going to the Fun One ? I am hoping for that to be my first race. I just have to get some tires first...you guys run 14's..I was thinking of running 15's on my car (225/45/15)...what do you think?
