    Default NHMS Triple June 5,6

    .

I'd LOVE to double dip again, adding my $195 to the regions coffers, burning up more tires
and fuel...generally helping the economy ....unfortunately ITR/ITS/ITB is racegroup 1,
and STU is in Racegroup 2

I'm guessing that impound isn't going to allow us to skip out in order to race two races back to back

Bummer!!....any chance of changing the order Jerry?

I wouldn't worry about that. I have it on good authority that the chief Of Tech for the event will be more than willing to accommodate double-dipping G1 drivers, and will be happy to coordinate with the Tech Steward to adjust mandatory meetings/impounds appropriately.

If Jerry can't change the sched (e.g. put "wings 'n things" in between G1 and G2) then just contact the Chief of Tech in advance to ensure your car(s) is/are appropriately waived through and escorted from G1 impound to G2 Grid.

How would that work for fuel? Can you squeeze 2 races out of one cell, Glenn?

Don't worry about running both Glenn, you do that, I'll only do the ITS race and move up a spot when you get DQ'd for not being in impound!

I'd be more concerned w/ how you're going to get fuel in the car & liquids in you between the two.

I am touched by your concern Matt and Steph!

The way I see it is that the ProIt races we run are 45 minutes, and we fill to the brim with fuel
and still end up just on the legal side of weight

so...if I bolt in 20lbs, just to be safe, then two back to back 20 minute races will be like a
45 minute ProIt race with a long double yellow midrace

and Greg...you're not pulling my leg now are you?....if not then I will go ahead and register for both

but of course, I'd much rather have wings and things split the groups.....please Jerry?

I hate to say it but, it's about the MIatas, they make up the majority of our DD'n.
Glen, unless I hear of more racers looking at the ITR/STU double dip(DD), I don't see any sense in making the change.
I will continue to watch who is DD and look at changes in the future.

Jerry I would perhaps be another double Dip. Why not move the wings and things inbetween the 2 groups?

All joking aside, even though I am not planning on taking advantage of this, I would not be apposed to having allowances for people to do so. Allowing cars to skip impound and if need be, having a slightly longer break between the two races to allow people to get from the track back to grid would be OK. The region needs the entries. As a group we need to work together. It does not just benefit the few that are double dipping, it does indrectly affect the rest of the entrants too.

The ITR and ITS cars make the most sense to run in STU. It can be done.

Oh, right: you raced Pocono. Yeah, that's really stretchin' your legs right there...you didn't hurt yourself or get lost or anything, right...?

Jerry's talking numbers, not suitability for the class. Miatas seem to insert themselves into other groups in far higher numbers than anyone else, and the number of ITB/ITS/ITR guys that double-dip into STU (and the old DP) are not that high...that said, it would make things a lot better for all involved to move G5 to G2 and move everything else back one group (and you could even move SSM into G1 so they could dip into STU, too). - GA

I think with 7-8 groups you can for sure space out the classes top allow a ton of DD options.

Lemme see, NY, PA and NJ all seem to be outta New England. LOL 6 tracks may not be a lot but the car will find it's way south this year with a much TALLER driver. HA!

Miracles do happen from time to time. I am looking at the calendar and believe I will be good to go.

I am assuming there is a test day on Friday?

    Run Group examples:

    1. ITB, ITR, ITS
    2. FV, F5
    3. ITA, IT7, ITC, SSB, SSC, T3
    4. FA, FB, FC, FE, FF, FM, CF, CFC, CSR, DSR, NCF, S2, ASR, FS, FST
    5. SSM, EP, FP, HP, GTL, STU
    6. GT1, GT2, GT3, AS, ITE, T1, T2, SPO, ST, STO
    7. SM
    8. SRF, SPU, LC

This puts at least one group between most DD options. SM-ITA, SM-ITS, SSM-ITA, All IT-STU, ITA-FP, ITS-EP........

    Did I miss anything?

It looks fine, not sure I can pull it off for the June date???
V fest is that weekend and they requested to be run group 3 or 4.
I could move SRF up to first and that could work but I need to clear this with all the PTB.

Just keep the spacing. Make 8, 1 and 1, 2, etc. That way the FV guys get their time slot.

You missed SM into SPU. SPU right before itr its itb is kind of a stretch but Im seeing 4 races per IT/SM type car.
Seems like a group of peaple paying the 4 entry fees are better than the 1 FA entry. Just sayin

    .

Jerry if many others request the group change great, but please don't do it just
for me....I got to thinking about the last double dip and how freakin tired my
aging body was come Monday am

the thought of doing 4 race groups on Saturday...and then AGAIN on
Sunday has me thinking that double dipping a TRIPLE weekend is for people
younger than I ... so I will be content with just the ITS race.

sorry for stirring the hornets nest
