Default Tire Size on 1st gen RX7

I have been running 205/60/13 and have run 215/50/13, but am curious about trying 225/45/13. Does anyone know if they will fit without doing any modifications? I have an 81 RX7.

I have 13X7 wheels with 4" backspacing and coilover struts and they fit with no problems on mine.

They fit my 13x7s but we had some wheels that did not have a deep enough drop in the center that they could not be mounted on.

They are harder to mount than the 50 or 60 series.

I was able to get car to minimum legal ride height but honestly the rear fenders had the lip rolled pretty hard. The front is no problem with the right offset or the right spacer.

So do you think a 225/50/13 would be easier?

the 50 will affect your gearing. most use the 45.
