    Default Convert a 16v to a 8v?

What does it take to convert a 16v car to a 8v car? Whats the cost? We are trying to decide if putting money to build a 16v motor or put the same amount and build an 8v. In CFR, there are a lot of 8v cars so it would give a little more competition. The 16v, granted its bone stock still, seems to have nothing for the ita class which seems to be a primary Mazda class.
    Thanks for the help.

16V cars aren't classed well in ITA and are tough to make competitive. Converting to an 8V just isn't worth the hassle in my opinon. You can buy a decent MK3 golf for under $500 all day long. Beran even went cheaper than that building a 4-door that was super quick. I would build a MK3 2.0L... . With the mazda protege and all the ITC Hondas now in ITB it's getting even tougher to stay up there.

I swapped our 16v to a 8v about 8yrs ago. Easy. The computers even work. Check your local rules.. You are supposed to run the 089 5th gear.
The 16V spoiler is not supposed to be legal on the 8V car.
Get to me if you need any help, or any little bits. MM

I'm pretty sure the 16v spoiler is the same as the one they used on the early 90 8v small bumper GTIs.
