ITB Corolla fx16 Red Top?

Hi everyone ive been going over the rules and I caint seem to figure out if my 87 fx16 gts could run in itb with a red top (3rd gen 4AGE) motor. Most of the other corollas and even the prizm can run with one. Its only 15hp but every little bit counts. Thanks for the help

the prism GSi motor or "small port" 4AG is the good one. the others are all effectively the same so no gripes from me, though there wre some rotating assembly changes in ~87 when they went to the "7-rib" blocks. the HP is in the head.

the FX16 came with a large port 4AGE (note the TVIS sticker on the intake manifold) and must run same.

If it came with one in the US market, in the years listed in the ITCS spec line for the car, you can run it.

like Chip and others have said. You can only run the motor that came in the car. So you are stuck with the same motor as the MR2 (blue top) which doesn't have a chance in hell of making process hp. You can run a red top in a Geo prism GSI, but that woudl require you getting a different car.

BTW I would probably do anythign to get another 15 hp out of my blue top. I still wouldn't make process power, but atleast things would be better.

sounds like you are going to have to repaint it.
