    Default Rain Tire Width

An old topic im sure but im picking up some hoosier wets and need to know, should i grab the 205's or 225's Im running an ITS rx7, normal tire width is 225 on a 15 inch wheel. This tire will also be on a 15

Iv heard many times that thinner is better but hey you dont see a GT car on 205's! so whats the story? thinner better for heavy rain? anyone tried both?

    Thanks!

Matt we run 205 wets...and while I don't think most people do, we even applied the same logic to intermediates, in which we also run 205s

Look at the diameters, the 225/55/15 wet is 1.9" taller than the 225/45/15 R6, that's going to have a big impact on gearing and may even cause clearance issues. The 205 wet while narrower, is only .6" taller.
