Default Which tires for scirocco 2

    Hi all,

Im wondering what the consensus is for tires for a 8 valve scirocco 2?

Best performance/durability/price is what Im after for this year, so Im relatively sure hoosier's are out of the running.

I have 14x7 panasports and 14x6 gti snowflakes for the rain options.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for all the great info posted here.

    Cheers'

    John

You can run a 205-60-13 (smaller the cheaper)But 205-55-14 is the norm....I love Toyo Ra1s.... love R6 Hoosiers more! I would like to try the hankook z2?? if tire rack could get them in..... V700 kumho works for the$$$$$.... I dont think I like the 888....so far.....just scuffed them in on the 4.2.10.....

    Thanks Lael,

Im pretty much looking at the toyo's, but I am also considering the Hankook's, but they are about 40 bucks more a piece. So all else being equal, I'll probably go with the toyo's.

If this is an IT car, the 14x7 wheels won't work for you. I suggest Toyos as a starting point.

As far as what is best from a performance standpoint, I think the 225/45-13 Hoosier is it. The car sits lower without messing up suspension geometry, the brakes have better leverage and it is the lightest tire/wheel you can fit.

What exactly wont work with the 14x7 wheels? I have the 10.1" 16v brakes, so I need to keep the 14" rim because of clearance.

    Thanks again

They work on the car, but ITB is allowed a maximum 6" wide wheel. Probably not an IT car though considering the front brake swap. So the 14x7 is fine.
