    Default Who sells take offs?

Where's the best place to get decent used race tires? Preferably something like a 215/50R13 Kumho 710 or similar.

13s are a bit of a tougher size to get good take offs. There just aren't all that many people running them in popular / competitive classes where you have people getting rid of them while there's plenty of life left on them. Now if you used the same size as SM and went to national races to watch, the tire vendor often would be glad to give you the take offs people leave behind.

yeah, dave said it. 13's are pretty hard. 14's are a little easier, and 15's are easiest.

I have some 14's and some 15's take offs that just ran in november and february.

+ what Dave and Steve posted.

I have some 15's that you can have, all you need to do is cut out a couple of inches!

Think! Why is Greg selling the 14's???????????? However, if the price is right - - - - -

Otherwise, Dave is right, check with the tire supplier's like Phils Tire Service.

Go to high end events like the ARRC and see if someone bought new tires for that race and wants to lower their net cost by getting rid of some usable takeoffs.

Post a 'wanted' message on this forum and autoxrr.

Get creative. I got a nice set of Toyo RA1's when it looked like NASA was going away from them. But them, I needed 15's. So they were plentyful.

I just bought the wheels and tires a year ago. They have been used for about 3-4 races. The tires still have decent life left on them. I paid $1700 for them new. What are they worth to you guys?

honestly not to much, as I am still looking for cheap tires. (bough a set of kosei with RA1's last time). Depends on what you are looking to get for them, would be my deciding factor.

I'm guessing those are 7" wide...? If by some freak chance they are 6", email me at kirk.knestis(at)evaluand.com and I'll take them off your hands.

John Berget race tires (sp) in Wisconsin sells a ton of takeoffs, but you are at the mercy of the race gods as to sizing.

    check here http://stores.ebay.com/Race-Tires-USDRRT

I have never bought from them, but during the season he has a bunch of tires, but as mentioned above 13's are usually the rare ones and he mainly has slicks

Thanks for the info guys. While not the answer I wanted to hear it is pretty much what I figured regarding finding good 13" takeoffs.

    Default 13" tires

It's been years since I've looked for 13" tires, but it was realitively easy because all the Spec Racer Fords run 13" wheels. Back then they ran Yoko's 008s and BFG's R1's at one time as well. I have no idea what the current spec tires are.
Now, anyone have 245-50-16 take-offs near Milwaukee, Wisconsin (yes- I konw Berget is 1 hour away).
