FYI. Will be using 750R 550 F 20mm front bar.. 22mm rear bar Koni yellow race re-valved.
That'll be a decent jumping off point but definitely too soft, IMO.

You could be rite thats its to soft . I just happen to have that spare set of springs to start with . I would think personly that 900F/700R is more what I need But those rates will requir more shock than the KONIS. It will be ok to test with in April.I will Post pics of the build soon .There arnt many ITS Del Sols out there . I also have a 96 GSR in the build prosses as well, will be HC1 . Check out my albums
    Thanks Guys

A race valved Koni Yellow will easily handle 1000lbs - I've been doing it for years on my ITA car. I'd take those 750's you've got and put them in the front, buy a set of 1000's for the rear (come on, they're like $100 a pair), use nothing but the stock front bar, and something huge as the rear bar. Just my opinion.

I've said for years that I'd love to see someone build a Del Sol Si for ITA. Exact same drivetrain and weight as the "EG" Civic EX/Si, but 10 inches shorter. Same great straight line scoot, but with a CRX ability to change direction. Hell yeah. Plus it would just be a cool, different car. As for building a Del Sol VTEC for ITS, I'm sorry, but I just don't think that B16 will ever be fast enough in a straight line to accomplish a whole lot. Sorry, but the 2.3L Prelude Si is only 130lbs more, and it will downright MURDER a B16.

There was an ITS DelSol built by Mike Cottrell here in Atlanta quite a few years ago. I think the consensus was that it was a bit underpowered for "S". More importantly, I remember that it was constantly having hub issues. I think it even lost a wheel or two at speed.

Thanks R2, Your advice is good, I do like the idea of the really stiff springs .Here in the Pacific North West . Tracks such as Pacific Racway are ruff and require a softer set up . I already have 3 championship ITA Crx-Si s , The Del-Soll will be a challenge and it will give up some straight line speed. I believe that it can qualifie on the pole up here with the ITS cars we have here. If prepared well and raced smart it can do well . The Beemers have an advantage with that big six .and if they sandbag me at the apex iam done .. will not let that happen LOL ... This build is somthing i wanted to do for a while . The car will run in 2 seperate classes . Here in Canada it will run in Improved production 2 . and will not get beat . the strongest cars are 3rd gen Intergras .
I do have a 32mm solid bar i could use if needed, and yes springs are cheap .There will be some changing development done on the car as it is raced . I just need a starting set up to get it on the track in Apr. The power to weight is verry good with the V-Tech power b16. As i said it will be a challenge and iam up for it .
I will post pics of the build soon . If anny thing it will be a fun and fast car to drive .(the little engine that could)
I have verry good succsess driving Honda,Acuras
    I like all the comments
