    For reference we use the FIA Sparco sliders to meet spec on all our Grand Am stuff. The tracks are full captive with positive locking on both rails so they are legal. Not up to the opinion of local tech guy. Have him show you in the book where they are not legal.

    Sliders are not illegal. Nor are they specifically legal. All the GCR states is "securely mounted".

    Protest.

    Keep in mind Steve that the FIA spec for seat mounts requires side mounts of 5mm aluminum or eqivilent steel thickness and proper grade bolts. The hole in the spec is that you are free to put what you want in between the side mounts and the car as long as the proper fasteners are used. Many tech guys have an opinion about sliders, but not backed up in the rules.
