    Default Brake Master Cyl

I am considering replacing the MC on my 2000 Civic Si. Like every other car, the manual recommends checking the pushrod gap from the booster which requires a special tool.

    My questions are:

Does this really need to be checked and what if it's not?

Is there a way to check it without the special tool?

    Thanks

    Rory

I have never checked the gap in my various 90-93 integras over the past 10 years in replacing probably 5 master brake cylinders. That said, not sure about the newer ones.
