Joe DiMinno just called: Joe won the ITA race, with Forrest Stevens in 2nd and in Marc Cefalo 3rd.

Marc Cefalo (1.8L Miata) beat my ITA long-course track record (2:17.900) by almost a second (2:17.08). Joe also beat it with a 2:17.7 and Forrest Stevens posted a 2:17.9

Steve Gorriaran in a '99 Spec Miata started Spec Miata DFL and won the race, posting a new lap record of 2:17.044.

Joe said Forrest says "Andy sucks" because he went faster.

Forrest only gets to race there when it's 'HP weather'. Actually, now he doesn't get to race at all!

If Joe beat the record, it couldn't have been that strong!

On the NESCCA website the cover letter for the Last Chance results does not list a new track record for the ITA race. How come?????

    good question.

i had to contact someone in glen region about the results of the fun one short course results not indicating the ITA record was broken.

i'll have to make another call.

That was some outstanding racing! Watched the entire battle - that's what fans pay money to watch. Looks like Joe barely nicked Forest at the line. Mark - some awesome saves. The one going onto the front straight was clutch - that corner has claimed many cars.

I got to watch Joe and Marc bounce around like hyper-caffeinated & sugar-buzzed 9-year-olds, as they waited for the provisional results to get faxed to the garage office from T&S in the Tower. They knew that somebody had smoked a new lap record, but they didn't know WHO. If it had taken 5 more minutes, we would have had to peel both of them off the ceiling.

Wow, great race!! Joe, imagine how fast you would be if you hit an apex or two!!! Did you actually hit Forrest coming out of the Toe? If so, add Forrest to the "I was hit by Crazy Joe" Face Book page!!

What was the qualifying line up for the first 2-3 rows?

Dude halfway through the race i couldn't hit an apex if someone paid me, and who's to say thats the fastest way around the track. Yes Forrest should add himself. As a matter of fact i'm gonna invite him.

It means "Drive down the middle of the straights to make them have to go to the outside, then miss your apex to kill their conrnerspeed so they are dead in the water going down the straight!" Rinse, repeat, until checkered flag.

Great Race Joe, Forest and Marc. What was Forrest thinking????????

Here is some fun footage from Saturday's Enduro using the new Aiptek camera on the Silver ITA 38. This is the start and highlights of the section before the double yellow.

    http://www.blip.tv/file/2747871/

    Hope you enjoy it.

Linda started so that Jerry and I would be sure to have a car to drive later in the race.

Video did not upload as HD for some reason. Still figuring this out but it is easy to edit into a movie and get uploaded. We also have some rear facing video from the Chase cam. Would love to mix it together.
